Day 223 - I ACCUSE

TODAY I PERMANENTLY ERASED
MY FLICKR ACCOUNT
DUE TO UNACCEPTABLE CENSORSHIP
PERFORMED BY FLICKR STAFF
AGAINST MY IMAGES.
I ACCUSE THIS MENTALITY
THAT CANNOT DISTINGUISH
BETWEEN ART
AND PORNOGRAPHY OR BAD TASTE.
I ACCUSE THOSE PEOPLE
WHO ARE ATTACKING AND HARRASING
ART AND ARTISTS
ONLY TO DEFEND
FRUSTRATIONS,
NARROW MINDS, PREJUDICES,
STUPIDITY
OR LACK OF CULTURE.
I CONSIDER FROM NOW ON
THAT FLICKR IS NOT A MEAN
OF PROMOTING ARTISTIC FREEDOM
BUT A WAY OF MANIPULATING PEOPLE
TO COMPLY TO A CERTAIN INTERPRETATION
OF FREEDOM.
I OBVIOUSLY CANNOT FIGHT
SUCH A CORPORATE MANIPULATION
THAT BRINGS BILLIONS OF DOLARS
IN SOMEBODY'S POCKET.
BUT, AT LEAST,
I CAN
SPEAK MY POINT OF VIEW HERE.

So, my post from day six - Wednesday, September 27, 2006 -
was a premonition.

Day Six - "One Very Important Thought"

"Now that the show is over and we have jointly exercised our constitutional rights,
we would like to leave you with one very important thought.
Sometime in the future you may have the opportunity
to serve as a juror in censorship cases - or so called obscenity cases.
It would be wise to remember that the same people who stop you from listening
to "Boards Of Canada" may be back next year to complain about a book,
or even a TV programm.
If you could be told what you can see or read,
then it follows that you could be told what to say or think.

Defend your constitutionally protected rights.
No one else would do it for you.
Thank you"
